Girls, more so than boys, are likely to be responsible for collecting water for their families and are left vulnerable to dangers such as trafficking and disease. Young girls and women spend 6 hours every day walking to collect water for their families in rural Guatemala. Worldwide, women and girls spend around 200 million hours daily collecting water. This giant waste of time takes away opportunities for success for women.
